Just wanted to pass on congratulations to rookie defender Rob Valentino, who was called up to the U.S. Under-23 Team yesterday for the Toulon Tournament in France. It will be Rob’s second go-round with the U23s, as he made two appearances with the squad in early 2007.
We’re excited for Rob since this will be his first international action after suffering a knee injury that kept him out of his senior year of college at San Francisco. He’ll be leaving this week to meet up with the team for some pre-tournament training and we’ll expect him back at the beginning of June.
