We all asked where the goals would come from for the Revs in this series against the Fire…Emmanuel Osei, that’s who! The Juice Man got loose beautifully for his improbable first-half flick-on equalizer, but he also hit the woodwork with a stinging drive and marked Brian McBride out of the game.

Well after a whole week of trying to work out various possible scenarios and permutations whereby the Revs could make it to the MLS Cup Playoffs, we now know the task for the Revs is simple – draw or win against Columbus and they’re in.

So much is at stake in the Revs’ regular season home finale on Saturday night. It goes without saying that a loss would all but kill the Revs’ playoffs hopes and even a tie could lead them hanging by a thread.

Alright, Revs fans, you want the good news first, or the bad news? OK – votes are in for the good and it is pretty pleasing news though, truly, not even really news if you’ve been paying attention in the run up to Saturday night’s clash between the Revolution and the visiting Columbus Crew.

It’s strange how the 1-1 tie at DSG Park felt oddly unsatisfying. Most time, the Revolution would be more than happy to escape from Denver with a draw. With three points there for the taking, however, it felt like an opportunity missed.

There’s no way to sugar coat the difficulty of task the Revolution faces in trying to win Saturday night’s game in Denver.
