Preseason Training – February 18

Any time we announce preseason information, there is always an asterisk directing readers to a bold note at the bottom: *Schedule is subject to change. The Revs have definitely put that footnote into effect this week, as the club just announced this afternoon that the players and staff will head to Orlando, Fla., this Saturday for a six-day… Continue reading »

Preseason Training – February 17

Another day of preseason training kicked off at 10 a.m. this morning in the Dana-Farber Field House, and it was again a longer session as we edge closer and closer to the start of the season. While today’s workout was much like yesterday’s in many ways, a few of the drills differed slightly.

Preseason Training – February 16

The Revolution’s recently-announced training trip to North Carolina in mid-March will be a welcome reprieve if the current New England weather continues, as wet, slushy snow coated Foxborough and made for some messy conditions this morning. Luckily for the Revs, the indoor facilities at the Dana-Farber Field House on the grounds of Gillette Stadium remain dry no matter the… Continue reading »

Newsstand – February 15, 2010

Good Monday morning! We hope that you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day and are continuing the celebration by sleeping in this morning and enjoying another day of relaxation in honor of Presidents Day. However, with the 2010 MLS season on the horizon, the Revs don’t have the luxury of taking extra days off and… Continue reading »

Preseason Training – Feburary 12

While Friday means casual day (jeans and sneakers) inside the Revolution offices, today was anything but casual for the Revs players, who not only went through their first double session of the preseason, but also had headshots (both still and video) taken in between the sessions. We’ll have a behind the scenes look at headshot day… Continue reading »

Newsstand – February 12, 2010

The big news this morning once again centers around the ongoing MLS labor negotiations, which have been extended for a second time, with the deadline now stretching an additional two weeks to Feb. 25. The most recent CBA expired on Jan. 31, but the sides agreed to extend the negotations through today. The inclement weather… Continue reading »

Preseason Training – February 11

While the first three days of training this week incorporated ballwork, small-sided games and full-field scrimmages, the routine switched back to fitness and conditioning for today’s workout in the Dana-Farber Field House. By the power of deduction, it can be assumed that the inclusion of games and drills earlier this week was done for the benefit… Continue reading »

Preseason Training – February 10

While the expected snow storm has yet to hit the Foxborough area with full force - still just flurries with no accumulation on the ground as of early this afternoon – it has already affected the Revolution’s training plans. While today was scheduled to be the club’s first double session of the preseason, the afternoon session… Continue reading »

Newsstand – February 10, 2010

With an impending snow storm set to batter the Northeast in the coming hours, Revs fans might need some reading material to keep themselves occupied until it’s safe to go back outside (which, if you trust the weathermen, might not be until tomorrow morning). All three pieces in today’s newsstand are courtesy of …

Rally pays a visit

As mentioned in the training recap, the Revs had a special surprise guest at today’s training session, and you can probably figure out from the headline who it was. Longtime Rev Steve Ralston dropped by today’s session to see his former teammates, coaches and staff before heading off to St. Louis on Thursday. While it’s been said before,… Continue reading »

Up to their old tricks

Some shenanigans ensued following today’s training session in the Dana-Farber Field House, as the Revolution had a little fun at the expense of one of the club’s newest interns, Josh Taylor. While he assists the team in a variety of methods, his primary duty during training sessions is to assist equipment manager Brian Banfill in maintaining the… Continue reading »

Preseason Training – February 9

The second week of preseason training continued today with an extended two-hour session, which once again focused on ballwork and small-sided games and moved away from last week’s regimen of strictly conditioning drills. Trialist Reinaldo Navia was on hand for a second straight day and got his opportunity to impress the Revolution’s coaching staff in a… Continue reading »
