Right now, Saturday night is all that matters
Written by Jeff Lemieux on September 2, 2010 – 12:55 pm -Alright, so last night’s heartbreaking loss in the SuperLiga 2010 final is not exactly how anybody frequenting this blog wanted it to play out. The Revs suffered their first-ever loss to a Mexican club in SuperLiga play and our rivals from south of the border took the SuperLiga title for the third time in the tournament’s four-year history. You have to give credit where credit is due, and Morelia played well enough to win. No one can argue the quality of the goal which won the title, as Miguel Sabah’s stunning 25-yard full volley left Matt Reis with no chance.
But now, it’s over.

“Morelia dominated, the result is a lie.”
Written by Jeff Lemieux on September 1, 2010 – 3:19 pm -I just wanted to remind everyone of some postgame comments from Morelia players/coaches following the Revolution’s 1-0 win over Morelia in the group stage on July 20 …

SuperLiga final is a can’t-miss chance for Revs fans
Written by Jeff Lemieux on August 30, 2010 – 5:50 pm -It’s perhaps the rarest of opportunities for sports fans to watch their favorite team compete for a championship on their home field. Yet here we are, just two days away from the Revolution hosting the SuperLiga 2010 final against Mexican club Monarcas Morelia with a chance to win some hardware. We as Revs fans have the unique opportunity to spur our hometown team on to victory in a title match and hopefully watch them lift a trophy right there on the field at Gillette Stadium.

Dube returns, trio of trialists join training
Written by Jeff Lemieux on August 26, 2010 – 6:02 pm -Back in Massachusetts after last week’s road trip through Chicago and Kansas City, the Revs returned to training yesterday here in Foxborough and were joined by four new faces (well, three new faces and one face we just hadn’t seen for a while).
As mentioned earlier this week via Twitter (@jeff_lemieux) three players joined the Revs on trial: Lee Sawyer, Gabe Mercier and Shastri Spencer. The trio first trained with the Revolution yesterday amidst driving rain and swirling winds, but they were presented with much more favorable conditions today out on the Lower Practice Field. After the jump you’ll find a picture and a bit of information on each trialist.
Also joining in with full team activities was Kheli Dube, who had been in London visting his newborn son while rehabbing a sprained right knee …

Progress Report: Five predictions for 2010
Written by Jeff Lemieux on August 23, 2010 – 4:33 pm -As hard as it is to believe, we’re now two-thirds of the way through the 2010 MLS regular season. That’s right, last week’s two-game road trip through Chicago and Kansas City brought the Revolution up to the 20-game mark in the 30-game schedule, meaning there are just 10 games remaining in the regular season (five at home, five on the road).
What this also means is that it’s once again time for me to take a look back at the five predictions I made prior to the start of the season to see how I’m doing. I’ve given progress reports after 10 games, 15 games and now 20 games, and this will be the final update before we truly see how I did when the regular season comes to an end in late October.
Of my five predictions, one was already proven correct, while another was proven incorrect, leaving three still very much up in the air. However, with only 10 games remaining in the regular season, we’re beginning to see very clear trends in many areas. So, how am I doing?

Revs launch Pepsi Refresh Project campaign
Written by revolutionsoccer.net on August 20, 2010 – 2:52 pm -As we announced earlier today, The Revs will compete against the other 15 MLS teams as  part of a league-wide competition for a $50,000 Pepsi Refresh Project grant to better the teams’ greater communities.
The Pepsi Refresh Project contest starts today and will run through Monday, Sept. 20, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans can cast up to 25 votes per day at MLSsoccer.com/PepsiRefresh.

“Everything’s up to date in Kansas City …”
Written by Jeff Lemieux on August 19, 2010 – 8:44 pm -… or so the song says. All I know is we’re here, settled in KC following an afternoon flight out of Chicago. Shortly after arriving at the hotel the players and staff enjoyed a nice team meal and now everyone’s retreated to their rooms (or a local movie theater) to relax for the evening.
The team will train tomorrow afternoon here in Kansas City as final preparation before Saturday night’s meeting with the Wizards. As if this weekend’s game wasn’t already important enough, the oft-used “must win” term is now being thrown around following last night’s heartbreaking loss in Chicago.
