Training Recap - March 24
Written by RevRun on March 24, 2010 – 1:44 pm -The two days of training far this week in Foxborough have not emulated the same kind of weather we are expecting to encounter in Southern California. The forecast for the Los Angeles area on the Left Coast calls for clear weather and warm sun over the next several days. If you have left the cozy confines of your domicile on Tuesday or Wednesday, you have fought some kind of combination of wind or rain. Read more »

Training Recap - March 23
Written by revseye on March 23, 2010 – 1:30 pm -For the past few weeks, training sessions have run long since it was preseason, guys were getting legs back and getting back into the swing of things.
Now that we’re fully into “in-season” training, we’re back on what we call a normal schedule. For those unaware, a normal schedule goes something like this: Tuesday - shorter session (75-90 minutes), Wednesday - longer session (90-120 minutes), Thursday - longer session (90-120 minutes), Friday - short session (hour, tops).
While we are back on a familiar schedule now with the season kicking off this weekend, today’s short session was unusually short - courtesy of Mother Nature.

Training recap - March 8
Written by revseye on March 8, 2010 – 1:40 pm -Of all days so far this preseason - at least those spent in Foxborough - today was the first day when everyone probably wished they were outside instead of inside. Unfortunately, with the new FieldTurf surface being installed on the stadium field, and still some snow left on the regular practice fields, it was another indoor day today at the Dana-Farber Field House. The sun was a big tease, though, especially since the team propped a few doors open to take advantage of the fresh air.

Preseason Training - February 18
Written by supahrevs on February 18, 2010 – 2:24 pm -Any time we announce preseason information, there is always an asterisk directing readers to a bold note at the bottom: *Schedule is subject to change. The Revs have definitely put that footnote into effect this week, as the club just announced this afternoon that the players and staff will head to Orlando, Fla., this Saturday for a six-day preseason training trip. Included as part of that trip will be the Revolution’s first preseason game of 2010, against FC Dallas on Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. Full details of that trip can be found here.
While the club will be heading for warmer climates in two days, preseason training continued this morning at the Dana-Farber Field House with another two-hour session.

Preseason Training - February 15
Written by revseye on February 15, 2010 – 12:33 pm -While most people have today off from work, the Revs were not. The team was back at training at 10 a.m. this morning at the Dana-Farber Field House, with all emphasis on ball work at t0day’s session. There are about three-and-a-half weeks until the team hits the outdoor fields in North Carolina, the team has the opportunity to really get back to basics before breaking out on a full field and playing competitive games.
After the compulsory jog and stretch warm-up, the team went through what will likely become a familiar sequence of drills for the season, moving from passing to possession to game work. Most sessions fall into this pattern as the season progresses, with the drills changing daily but the focus still the same.

Training Recap - November 5
Written by supahrevs on November 5, 2009 – 12:28 pm -With the team set to depart for Chicago tomorrow morning, today’s training session was the last before taking the field at Toyota Park on Saturday night. As such, there was one element of this morning’s workout - besides the weather -Â which made it very clear that the Revs are in the midst of the playoffs.
Penalty kick practice.

Training Recap - November 4
Written by supahrevs on November 4, 2009 – 3:44 pm -After taking two days to recover from last Sunday afternoon’s thrilling 2-1 victory over the Fire, the entire squad was back on the training field this morning to begin preparing for the decisive second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinal Series on Saturday night in Chicago. While everyone is pleased with the home victory in the first leg - and the one-goal advantage that came with it - every single player and staff member is fully aware that there are 90 more minutes (or more) of hard-fought soccer to be played on Saturday night before the job is done.
