What a way to start the Revolution’s 2009 season. It was never going to be easy for the Revs Saturday night, what with Twellman, Ralston and Albright missing and several young, untested players being counted on in the starting lineup. Not to mention the surface on that field at Buck Shaw Stadium. I likened it… Continue reading »
Howdy, Folks. It’s hard to believe it’s time for me to write one of these again, but spring must be upon us as indeed it’s time for MLS soccer action and not a moment too soon, as far as I’m concerned. The Revolution are coming off their longest off-season since Steve (Legend!) Nicol took over… Continue reading »
Can it really be that time already? Yes! The season is here and “In the Net” is your source for Revolution talk all season long. I’ll kick off the ’09 campaign with a trifecta of great live guests: First, it’s Revs TV color man Greg Lalas, who I’m sure will agree with everything I say.… Continue reading »
So now the Revolution have gotten the rest they have been craving – nine days between games and a fresh view toward the future – which means the stretch run of six games to try and win the Supporter’s Shield, and, short of that, best position themselves for the playoffs.
Everybody be calm. All is well. The Revolution will be just fine, just have faith in the same group of players that were top of the league for three months and things should pan out. Now, a good place to start would be to defeat Chivas USA at home on Thursday night. The Revs have… Continue reading »
Saturday night’s clash with the Columbus Crew (7:30 p.m. start time on TV38 and WEEI) is the Revs’ biggest regular season game to date. It’s a true six-pointer, with first place in the conference and the league on the line. It will be a measure of where the Revs are relative to the other top… Continue reading »
Last week I was able to fake it – I filled the blog with useless facts and figures ripped straight from the internet. This week there’s no faking it for me or the Revolution. They trail Joe Public FC 2-1 in CONCACAF Champions League qualifying and if they can’t overturn that result from the first… Continue reading »
The first order of business on BBB pertains to Friday night – I’ll be Mike Adams’ guest on “The Planet Mikey Show” on WEEI 850AM at 9:00 p.m. Please call or email in with your questions and comments: 617-779-0850 or 888-525-0850 and firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll be taking Revs-Galaxy and any other MLS or soccer question you… Continue reading »
Did you know that the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (pronounced /?tr?n?dæd ?n t??be?go?/) is an archipelagic state in the southern Caribbean, lying northeast of the South American nation of Venezuela and south of Grenada in the Lesser Antilles? And that It also shares maritime boundaries with Barbados to the northeast and Guyana to the… Continue reading »
Well, this was unexpected. I knew San Jose was a vastly improved team from when the Revs hosted them in May, but 4-0!? That raised a lot of eyebrows around the league for sure. Now the Revs get another crack at D.C. United, who knocked them out of the U.S. Open Cup last week in… Continue reading »
So the Revolution’s crazy month of August marches forward – this time to the West – as the Revs take on a last-place-but-vastly-improved San Jose Earthquakes team on Saturday night (10 p.m. TV38; Revolution Radio Network).
