With a Thursday night game, Steve Nicol has given the boys Friday and Saturday off. Originally, everyone was supposed to have Sunday off, too, but that was changed yesterday after the game. Instead, everyone will be in on Sunday morning for regeneration, treatment and possibly a light jog and stretch. Monday and Tuesday will be regular training sessions before the team leaves on Wednesday for Chicago.
So while we’re off this weekend, the rest of MLS continues the 2008 MLS Cup Playoffs. The schedule on Saturday is pretty convenient for TV watching, with every game two hours apart.
First up is Houston-New York at 4 p.m. ET from Giants Stadium. Next, Real Salt Lake’s first-ever playoff appearance when they host Chivas USA at 6 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel (5:30 pregame show). Finally, the night wraps up with Columbus at Kansas City at 8 p.m. on HDNet.
What are your playoff predictions? While those of us that wear Revs-colored glasses were impressed with last night’s game – more so for the Revs’ stand-up performance under seemingly insurmountable odds – how do you see the rest of the series playing out? Will the home teams in Game One succeed and put the higher seeds on their heels at home next weekend? What do you think?
