To almost no one’s surprise, Shalrie Joseph was named to the 2008 MLS Best XI team earlier today. He’ll be honored, along with the rest of the Best XI team, later this evening at the annual MLS Awads Gala.

Also honored were Jon Busch, Chad Marshall, Bakary Soumare, Jimmy Conrad, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Robbie Rogers, Sacha Kljestan, Landon Donovan and Kenny Cooper.

Cooper also earned the 2008 MLS Comeback Player of the Year award after suffering a broken leg in 2007 to return to finish second in MLS goal-scoring this year.
