Training Recap - June 9

Written by supahrevs on June 9, 2009 – 5:25 pm -

Because of the short turnaround after Sunday night’s game against New York, today’s training session only involved non-starters, as those who played the majority of the Red Bulls match were given another day to recover. With that said, it was a bit of a lighter session as the weather conditions (pouring rain) and smaller numbers limited what the coaching staff could put together.

After playing 45 minutes on Sunday night, Taylor Twellman was at today’s session to get in some work, while Chris Albright was also present as he nears a return from knee surgery. Even some of the guys who played the full 90 minutes on Sunday night showed up for a bit to keep sharp, including Jeff Larentowicz and Matt Reis.

Meanwhile, Revolution Under-18 captain Scott Caldwell was also back at training for a second go-round after completing a week of sessions with the first team last week.

Although we were only able to catch a few minutes of training (did I mention it was pouring?), what we did see involved finishing and possession … and the finishing drills included Steve Nicol … we’ll leave the results of that to the imagination.

The entire first team is scheduled to be back at it tomorrow morning as the club gears up for Saturday night’s visit to Kansas City to battle the Wizards, one of the teams currently tied for third place in the Eastern Conference with the Revs.
