Training Recap – June 16

Although today was another off day for those who started on Saturday night against the Wizards, much of the team was back on the training field this morning to begin preparations for Sunday night’s SuperLiga opener against Santos Laguna. The numbers were understandably small, but the players who were present still got in some quality work under threatening skies.

In the first bit of news that we’re sure everyone is waiting for, trialist Edgaras Jankauskas did not join the team for today’s training session, but he is scheduled to begin training with the club tomorrow along with the rest of the players who were off today. However, United States Under-20 National Team players Tony Taylor and Gale Agbossoumonde did join the team for today’s session, as both players will train with the team on a temporary basis this week to gain a bit of professional experience. Additionally, Revolution U18 captain Scott Caldwell is still training with the first team for the third straight week.

Although we were only able to catch a glimpse of today’s session, what we saw involved  a game of possession with a very distinguished European legend serving as one of the neutral players: Steve Nicol. With the starters off today, the numbers were sufficiently small enough for Nicol to don the green jersey and play … although he often doesn’t need such an excuse to join in the festivities.

With Jankauskas expected in for tomorrow’s session, we’ll do our best to snap a few pictures and post them here on the blog.

Let’s hope that maybe Jankauskas is the player who can play with or without Twellman in the line-up and score goals.

  2. Rev123 says:

Does Jankauskas by any chance have a green card or U.S. citizenship?

  3. Steven says:

No he doesn’t and I doubt he’d ever apply for one.
