Danny’s potential wrath on Saturday
Written by revseye on August 27, 2009 – 7:02 pm -
Folks have been asking about the potential effects of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Danny on this Saturday’s game. We’ve been monitoring the storm’s status and current projected paths, and we have confirmed the protocol with Major League Soccer:
Should it be necessary, before the game a group of officials from both teams, the league, referees and law enforcement will be in communication to assess the state of affairs. If a delay is deemed at all necessary, every available avenue (web, social networking, in-stadium, radio, TV) will be used to alert fans. If a postponement is deemed necessary, that too will be communicated.
Once the game gets going, the referee has the authority to suspend the game if he feels conditions have deteriorated to the point that they are dangerous or unplayable.
One other important note is that once the first half is completed, the game is considered official and can be called. Although, in that case, every effort will be made to restart and complete the game.
For up-to-the-minute updates on the storm’s impact on the game on Saturday, visit revolutionsoccer.net and the blog. We will keep these both updated with any developments.

Ah - come on…cancel the game and reschedule the ticket holders! It’s pouring out…how can anyone enjoy the game when it’s cold and pouring? The kids were gonna bring “Grampa” - but he can’t sit in the cold rain…have a heart…reschedule.
