Revolution Newsstand - November 8
Written by revseye on November 8, 2009 – 3:58 pm -The team has arrived back in Foxborough following last night’s disappointing 2-0 loss - and subsequent 3-2 series defeat - at Chicago. After an extended stay at the stadium while Mauricio Castro got his hand stitched up by the doctors, the team returned back to the hotel for a quiet team meal. It was still a bit subdued this morning at breakfast and on the bus headed to the airport, but once we all got moving, everyone began to look ahead. It will be a bit weird tomorrow to return to the stadium and not be slammed getting ready for a Saturday match.
Today’s news obviously focuses on last night’s results, with the general feeling that - as has been said a lot of the season - just a couple of crucial mistakes - cost the team not only the game, but also the series.

Hey guys, although you stand at the wrong end of this series, you showed that you can fight and how dangerous next year’s Revolution team will be, when the new players are used to the team and MLS and Steve Ralsto, Taylor Twellman and Chris Albright will return. You made the sensation to get in the play-offs and won the first game of the series. This is quite effort, considering all the difficulties this season. But you are definitely on a good way and I’m looking forward to follow your matches next season again from Switzerland. Work on yourself the next months and I’m sure you will return like a rocket next season. I will definitely be there again, as usual from Switzerland
Best wishes from a fascinated fan from Switzerland

Let’s hope for a productive off season. Needed:
assistant coach
a forward who will score 12+ goals
headache/equilibrium pills for Twellman
an amazing physical therapist for Ralston
$$ to keep Jeff in New England
A stadium blue print and t-stop for somerville
enlish lessons for Osei
A deeper roster

Although I don’t want to sound like the bitter fan who’s team lost the big playoff game I guess I’ll go out on that limb anyway. I keep thinking that a poor decision by the ref not to call a foul when Castro went sailing into the boards changed the momentum of the game. Had a foul been called Castro could have received immediate attention and been replaced sooner rather than later. Maybe it wouldn’t have changed the end result of the game, but maybe it would have.
I hope the team has a good off season and gets the rest time they deserve. I’m already looking forward to 2010!
