Protected lists due later today
Written by revseye on November 23, 2009 – 11:04 am -Even with the late ending to last night’s MLS Cup 2009, teams - including RSL - can’t look back at the 2009 season much longer as all 15 teams have to submit their lists of 11 protected players to Major League Soccer by 3 p.m. today for the 2010 Expansion Draft. But it’s not all that clear-cut either, as there is a brief trade window open this morning that could affect teams’ lists …
So with that in mind, who do you forsee to be the 11 protected players the Revs will submit later today?

Hopefully, the wages and age of Reis and Jankauskas will keep them safe. Albright can go and give us some room under the salary cap.

Doesn’t Alston not have to be protected since he is GA? Or did the rules change?

Albright can free up some money. Jankauskus was a disappointment. Trade Twellman while he is still worth something - unless he is actually going to play a full season.

…that’s 11, right?
Can’t believe he did not make the list!!! Not flashy, past his prime, but you find me a player in MLS who gives more of an effort on (and off) the field, has a bigger heart, and is a bigger part of the identity of their team than that guy.
