Revolution NewsstandIt’s a big day for soccer fans around the world as the 2010 World Cup draw gets under way at noon. But before we get too far ahead, here’s some Revs-related news:

MLSnet.com has another piece on Matt Reis‘ surgery and his expected recovery time. Also, Kyle McCarthy’s Musings for Goal.com features two familiar MLS names this week - the newly retired Jay Heaps and Ben Olsen. In his column, McCarthy cites five common reasons why the two will be missed by both their teams and others around the league.

Moving on to today’s international event… The Wall Street Journal has an interview with president of U.S. Soccer (and president of Kraft Sports) Sunil Gulati. The Boston Herald has an overview of the draw and offers a few key U.S. players’ thoughts on “World Cup fever.” Lastly, MLSnet.com scribe Mark C. Young details Bob Bradley’s role ahead of South Africa 2010 and how the national team head coach plans to deal with elevated expectations.
