Welcome back, Rally!

For those who haven’t heard yet, Steve Ralston is back. And no, we don’t mean back on the field playing (which he is). We mean back with the Revolution. The team announced this morning that the multi-records holder has re-signed with the Revs after a brief spell with the second-division team in St. Louis.
For those of us who were with him yesterday when he swung by the stadium after his entrance physical, we can tell you how happy he is to be back. It’s just obvious. He had a smile from ear to ear, he was bright and chipper and we even lost him a few times in the office when he would sneak off to go say hello to more people.
Jeff Lemieux referenced it on a Twitter post (@jeff_lemieux), but when Rally walked into the locker room yesterday for the first time, he stopped and said quietly, “It’s good to be back.” While the guys were setting up for his sit down interview with Jeff (which can be viewed here), he wanted to check out the whole locker room to see what had changed. We can also testify that he hasn’t lost his mojo in the prank department, either.
For those of us who have worked with Rally during his time with the Revs, we’re all so excited that he’s back, and he’s happy to be back in New England, as well. His first training session will be on Wednesday when the guys come back from a two-day break, and he’ll be available for Sunday’s game against Cruzeiro.
Oh, and one last thing. Ralston will be back in his familiar #14. Upon his return, Sainey Nyassi gave up the number and switched to #17.

This news made my day! Thanks to all who made it possible, but, imo, he should never have been allowed to leave. He’s meant too much to the team.

This is huge and fills a really big hole in the mid-field. And with Matt Reis almost back there might actually be hope for this season yet. Welcome Back Steve!

These are GREAT news! I couldn’t believe it when I first heard it, but this is so good for the Revs. Anyone who doubts the Revs will fail this season, pay attention, their coming from behind. I’m very curious about how Steve Ralston will work togheter with Perovic, definitely a great pairing with two offensively orientated players and especially with three players (Perovic, Joseph, Ralston) who are able to play the killing pass.
Let’s hope that Matt Reis and Taylor Twellman return this season too. That’ll make this team nearly unbeatable.
Best wishes from a happy fan in Switzerland
P.S.: By the way, welcome back Steve Ralston!

It’s great to have Ralston’s veteran presence on the team again, they need him to inspire this young squad. By the way the Revs did not get rid of Steve. He wanted to go back home to St. Louis, that is the only reason why he left. The folding of the St. Louis franchise opened the door for thr Revs to get him back and lead a midfield with veteran leadership. Just in time Steve, let us see if the boys can turn this season around.

Great to have you back Steve! We can’t wait to watch you play for the Revs again.
Maybe when Matt and Taylor return, Jay will come out of retirement. That would give the roster quite a bit of depth.
Welcome Back!

Best possible news to have read yesterday upon checking in after 36 hours in transit to South Africa.

So excited to have Steve Ralston back! And a shout out to Sainey Nyassi for doing the classy thing and graciously giving Ralston back the #14.

Great news! Very glad to see Rally back where he belongs. The next 21 days are going to be very good for the Revs: They have Rally back, Matt should be fit and ready to start by then, and Taylor will be that much closer to coming back (I’m still predicting August). Plus, this break gives them the opportunity to work on everything that has been going wrong for them so far this season.

Welcome back, Rally! I knew our very own MLS legend had another season in him. Now for the real work: getting to the playoffs. I’m feeling a lot better about the idea now.

The class act is back to the MLS…where he belongs! Knowing your venture to St. Louis was important to you, I am sorry things didn’t work out. First and formost, here’s to staying healthy! Your leadership and experience are priceless, and I know you will continue to do great things for the game on and off the feild for years to come. So happy to be able to watch you on the pitch again via computer from my home in Seattle! New England is lucky to have you back! All the very best to you Steve Ralston!

This is the best news ever. Hope the injury doesn’t keep him out too long. With Ralston, Joseph and Reis back, all we will need is Twellman for a total fantasy come true.
