When I spoke with Roberto “Betu” Linck on camera yesterday, I promised I would let you know when he received his International Transfer Certificate. Consider this a promise kept.
Linck has received all of the necessary paperwork and can now officially be added to the Revolution’s roster. As such, he’ll be available for selection tomorrow night when the Revs take on Mexican side Puebla FC in a SuperLiga 2010 semifinal at Gillette Stadium. For those wondering how Linck is on the Revolution’s SuperLiga roster, the competition’s rules require each team to submit a roster for the entire group stage (which Linck wasn’t on), but clubs can then alter that roster for the semifinal and final. Hence, Linck is now eligible for SuperLiga.
As for Ilija Stolica, the Serbian forward is still awaiting his U.S. P-1 Visa before he can join up with the Revs in Foxborough. While a timetable is not definite, there is hope Stolica will arrive in time for the Revolution’s Aug. 14 regular-season match against the Houston Dynamo.
