Random questions on the Far Post podcast

On this week’s Far Post Podcast (listen here), once we were done talking about the Revs’ first-ever DP signing in Milton Caraglio, we had some random off-topic subjects come up (shocking, I know).

As you’ll hear on the podcast, some of these topics generated some tough questions that we decided we’d let our listeners/readers provide their answers to in this here space.

So put on your thinking caps, people, and provide your answers to these questions in the comments below.

1. What would Meat Loaf not do for love?
“Bat out of Hell” shouldn’t be on any top 10 list anywhere, I maintain my stance on this.

2. What should we do with our Teal Bunbury bobbleheads?
Myself and Jeff Lemieux each received these from the fine folks at Sporting KC

3. Should Jeff Lemieux wear track suits to Revolution matches  instead of khakis?
JWro is calling for change – should Jeff Lemieux listen?

4. Is there a correlation between mullets and dislocated shoulders?
Stephen McCarthy has a mullet and has dislocated his shoulder multiple times. Mel Gibson had a mullet in Lethal Weapon and has dislocated his shoulder multiple times. Coincidence?

Let us know what you think!

  1. DaveB says:

    1. I’m not sure why you struggle with this. The song clearly states he would do ANYTHING. (I’m guessing you have no appreciation for Rocky Horror either.)

    2. Give them to my kids.

    3. Jeff should wear skinny jeans and polos, a la Pep Guardiola.

    4. Your sample size of 2 is not large ehough for a significant correlation, but maybe. The tall, skinny guy probably just needs to hit the weights and bulk up some.

  2. DaveB says:

    1.a)…but not THAT!

  3. Chris B says:

    1) He will not stop appearing on TV and attempting to revive his career/popularity.

    2) ebay I guess. I feel like destroying or defacing it is unprofessional and if any of you are fans of the US national team you wouldn’t want to ruin the bobble head anyway.

    3) Change is good I don’t know if a track suit is exactly it but with players like Cochrane and Lekic experimenting with facial hair in relation to their performance I think Jeff Lemieux should think about some facial hair changes!

    4) Yes. The fact that the mullet is longest in the back effects the weight and pressure on the head, neck and shoulders, even if only slightly, making shoulder dislocation a negative side effect to McCarthy’s otherwise new found scoring/assisting touch with his head!

  4. Louie says:

    1) He wouldn’t stop cheering for the Cosmos even though they don’t actually play competitively anymore.

    2) Keep it in the drawer and pretend it doesn’t exist.

    3) Jeff should go with a faux hawk and the track suit.

    4) It’s all coincidence.

  5. Chris B says:

Great podcast today, but yeah about my answer to question two, I didn’t want to sound serious but I couldn’t think of anything funny (rare moment for me). I couldn’t really hear what you said about making a video with them but that would’ve been a good idea! I just don’t want you guys to think I actually thought you would deface them, I knew you wouldn’t do that I just didn’t really know what to suggest.

  6. Jason Dalrymple says:

Hey Chris – we were just mindlessly babbling about mindless questions, so we weren’t thinking you were suggesting that we would deface said bobbleheads. And I don’t think that made any sense. :)

We toyed with the idea of a video response to KC’s video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-r6FKjNryU), but as we attempted to say on the show, we kind of had our week taken over by Milton’s signing and Diego’s debut, so we scratched the idea.

    Thanks for listening!

  7. Chris B says:

OHHHH that makes so much sense now! I thought you were talking about the video when KC put up stereotypical pictures of Canadians against TFC. I had no idea the video in the link existed because I don’t follow KC I follow New England! :)

Thanks for responding Jason and I’ll definitely keep listening to the Podcast! Whoever decides what to do with podcasts (I’m thinking it’s you) should consider doing the Far Post again next year. Where else can you laugh and hear good soccer conversations about the Revs at the same time? No where!
